Aims:
To encourage and promote
the development of our pupils so that each, regardless of background or ability,
will attain the self-esteem that comes from nurturing their true potential
socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually and intellectually in a fair and
supportive school environment. Our school motto is Mol an Oige and the school
atmosphere must reflect this.
Objectives: That pupils be independent but also caring and
sharing. Have respect for each other and for teachers and others. Also
respect for creatures, property and the environment. Academically to be
prepared for Second Level Education with proper Numeracy/Literacy
skills Socially to be prepared to take their place in and contribute to
society both locally and further afield. In the Class-room:
In the class-room each pupil will be able to: Communicate orally and
confidently in English, write and communicate orally in Irish, mathematical
concepts and be numerate in all relevant areas, appreciate and enjoy physical
activities and especially team-related pursuits. Experience a wide variety of
Art and Craft activities. Learn to listen, sing and play music and to
appreciate our Irish heritage and wealth of song and music. Teachers be aware
of the diverse back-grounds of pupils- settled or traveller - and respect all
traditions, cultures and needs.
