Dear Parent(s),
Please note that this school closes on Thursday, 26th. June at 12 noon
for summer holidays and will re-open on Wednesday,
27th. August at 9.10a.m.
I would like to thank you for your help,
support and co-operation during the school year. It is very much appreciated by all the staff
and me.
It has been a wonderful year in which we
have showcased our school in the following:
Sixth
Class organised a very successful Jumble Sale and raised money for Green
Schools. Second
& Third Class did some fundraising for the charity “Children Helping
Children”. Pupils
took part in the School’s Cross Country. Second
Class girls received the sacrament of Holy Communion
All our pupils enjoyed the visits paid to
our school from:
Mr.
Ziglinzki – visiting scientist who carried out scientific workshops. Jenny
McDonald – organic gardener, who planted many organic fruits and vegetables. Many
parents came to the school to help with the following:
cookery classes with the children
from Junior Infants and First Classes. paired reading with Second Class
Room 10. paired reading with Sixth Class Room
9. Homework Club.
Whizz
Kids – Computer classes with pupils from 3rd.-6th.
classes in the school hall. Schools
Completion Personnel – Transition Programme with 6th. Class Infant
classes visited the Fire Station, Deel Bakery & other shops in the town. They also
went for a river walk.
Under
the guidance of Mrs. McMahon in 6th. Class, 19 eggs were placed in
an incubator and 13 chicks hatched within 21 days. Wassa

Skills with Gerry Molyneaux. Safety
Talk with members of the Fire Brigade. Litter
Awareness talk with Limerick Co. Council.
Junior
School Tour took place at Old Rectory, Croom. Senior
School Tour took place at “Wetlands, Tralee. League
of Legends Soccer. Great
fun was had by all pupils on Sports Day.
In the school we have a strong involvement
in the following:
After School Programmes:
Every classroom is equipped with an
Interactive Whiteboard and internet access. There is five iPads in each classroom.
We would like to thank the First Holy
Communion children who made donations to various charities and to all the
pupils who made our Jumble Sale a success.
Congratulations to all our pupils who
worked so hard.
And finally we take this opportunity to bid
a fond farewell to our 1st class boys and 6th class girls
whom we wish every success to in the future and look forward to the arrival of
our new Junior Infants.
A special word of thanks, to the Board of
Management & the Parents Council, for all their help and support throughout
the year.
