Homework Week 26

posted 10 Apr 2015, 02:15 by Vincent Gleeson

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter. We are in the final term but lots of interesting things to be done in class.

This week you will find your child’s Easter Maths Test and Word Check in the Homework Folder please sign and return to me. Our Aistear Theme is moving to the Hairdressers/Barbers. If you have any items/clothes that would help us play then send them in and I will return in a few weeks when we are finished this theme. I will send home the building site items.

Two things to try at home.

·         Make sure to try the www.oxfordowl.co.uk website. It has loads of suitable books to read and activities to complete. Click on the Oxford Owl icon on the left on our Class Website. Login using our room1 username and password. Username: room1stannesps  Password: Gilly2013. Try the books with band Lilac to start with.

·         See the Information for Parents sheet on helping your child with Maths in the homework folder.

This week we will be reading the alternative readers to “What a Mess” (Orange Book No 5). These books have no new words. We will design and build an electrical circuit and learn the story of 8.

Thanks

Mr Gleeson

Reminders

Homework

On Mondays I will give you a note in the homework folder with the homework for the week. It will also let you know some of the things we are doing in class. Homework will usually tie into what we are doing in class that week.

Readers

Please read the story together and then fill out the reading log. The reading log can be kept in the homework folder.

Aistear

The children will be given time to creatively play using a given theme. Our first theme is the “The Building Site”. If you have some items at home that would help us play please send them in. We will return them in a few weeks when we move on to another theme.

PE

Our PE days are Mondays and Thursdays so children can wear their tracksuits on those days.

Lunches

If children don’t eat something I will send that home so you will know. If you want to change your child’s lunch order then drop me a note in the homework folder. You can view your child’s current lunch order on our class website. It’s the link on the left hand side called “School Lunches”.

Questions

If there are any questions please ask. If you can’t make it into the school my email is vincent.gleeson@stannesps.ie for any questions. I usually check that every day.
