Homework Week 17
Dear Parents,
Thank you for signing and returning your child’s Christmas Maths assessment. Our PE days are now Monday and Tuesday for the next 9 weeks. The hall is being used on Thursdays. We visited the library on Wednesday and most children now have a school library card. We are continuing our second reader “The lost ball”. The new words from this book are in the word wallet (orange words). I removed the red class names except for your child’s own name. Our Aistear theme is the Doctors Surgery. If you have any items for this please send them in. This week we will continue to learn and write the numbers 1 to 5, make predictions as to what will happen next in a story and design and make some electrical circuits. Thanks Mr Gleeson

Homework Week 14
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your patience last week while we are sorting out how best to get the children to you at home time. Please return the Parents Council colouring page by Wednesday this week and children have a no-uniform day on this Friday. So the children can wear their own clothes. We plan to visit the local library this week and I will get a school card for each child that they can use if we go there again in future. This week we will continue to learn the names of the children in our class, we will start our Christmas assessments and start to learn the numbers 1 to 5. Thanks Mr Gleeson

We have our parent teacher meeting this Thursday 27th of November. 1.50 Until 5.30pm. If this does not suit just write a note on this homework page and I can arrange an alternative time or day. The photographer will be in school on this Tuesday so children can wear their uniforms that day. Our Aistear theme has moved on to the Hairdressers/Barber shop. This week we will be reading some other Yellow readers. If you see one in the Homework folder please read it that night. They have just 8 pages but use the words that the children know already. This week we will be learning the names of the children in the class, learning about shapes and patterns and talking about the Planets. Thanks Mr Gleeson

We plan to finish with the Building Site theme in Aistear this week and move on to the Hairdressers/Barber shop. We have a parent teacher meeting on Thursday 27th of November. 1.50 Until 5.30pm. Homework Week 7
Dear Parents,
Thank you for sending in the brown items. We had a fire drill on Friday and the children all stayed calm and we lined up and walked out to the yard safely. We have been visiting the computer room every week and the children have be practicing using a mouse. We will be using the www.studyladder.com website during the year in class. Your child has a username and password for that in their homework folder. You can use that website at home too. (Go to our class website and click on the Studyladder icon on the left to get to the class login page) The activities I will assign are free and there is no need to pay for activities if that message comes up. We read the story of the Smartest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson in class, some day this week your child will bring home a sequence of pictures from the book. Ask them to recount the story for you.
