Homework Week 7

posted 12 Oct 2014, 11:36 by Vincent Gleeson

Dear Parents,

Thank you for sending in the brown items. We had a fire drill on Friday and the children all stayed calm and we lined up and walked out to the yard safely. We have been visiting the computer room every week and the children have be practicing using a mouse. We will be using the www.studyladder.com website during the year in class. Your child has a username and password for that in their homework folder. You can use that website at home too. (Go to our class website and click on the Studyladder icon on the left to get to the class login page) The activities I will assign are free and there is no need to pay for activities if that message comes up. These activities are not compulsory. If there are any questions please ask. If you can’t make it into the school my email is vincent.gleeson@stannesps.ie for any questions. I usually check that everyday.

This week we plan to visit the Fire Station on Thursday and will be learning about using a keyboard, comparing things (short/long, big/small) and talking about Halloween.

We are now introducing some aspects of the Aistear curriculum to the classroom. The children will be given time to creatively play using a given theme. Our first theme is the “The Grocery Shop”. If you have some items at home that would help us play please send them in. We will return them in a few weeks when we move on to another theme. Please do not buy anything new.
